My family of 9 stayed at Coconut Hill Cottage and Tropical Tree House for the holidays and we couldn't have chosen a better spot for our family holiday. My husband and I have visited Coral Bay many times, usually staying at a smaller villa, but when we were planning our two-week trip for our extended family we found Jake and Sarah's place and were thrilled with the location, the amount of space, and the prompt and welcoming communication as we made our arrangements for our stay. When we arrived we were blown away! The houses were perfect - beautifully decorated, squeaky clean, comfortable, and provided everything we needed and more. And the icing on the cake - the view is stunning! Little touches like the bluetooth speakers, decks of playing cards (we did have one day of rain - but that was no problem here as there was plenty of room for everyone to gather for a rainy game day!) and Netflix to entertain the children while the adults spent some time out on the porch in the evenings were really appreciated, and made our stay extra comfortable. A couple of things to note - there are some steep stairs down to the Tropical Tree House; we actually appreciated the exercise! but the stairs might be difficult for older guests to navigate, so just take note as you are making your arrangements. There is almost always a breeze on the mountain so we found no need for air conditioning at all, but it is available if you need it. Finally, everything you need to cook at both the houses is there, which is so convenient. In the past we've eaten out almost every night, but with our large group we took turns cooking in several nights and it worked out beautifully for us. The kitchen(s) had everything we needed. Finally, we were so glad to see how well the island, and Coral Bay in particular, is bouncing back after last year's hurricanes. We love this island and the Coral Bay community, and were excited to return. The island still has a little ways to go to be back to 100%, but everyone was so warm and happy to see us (along with all of the other visitors to the island) and the people and landscape are beautiful. To summarize - we were thrilled with our stay! Thank you Jake and Sarah - we look forward to coming back soon!
Jake and Sarah were the best hosts we’ve ever had. They checked in with us before, during and after our trip to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable.
The treehouse is perfect for a couple looking to get away from it all, and the screen porch/hammock has an unbelievable view of Coral Bay. This was our first trip to St. John, and Jake and Sarah helped make it one of the best trips we’ve ever had!
Absolutely loved our stay at Coconut Hill Cottage--it was perfect for our family; everything is exactly as presented!
The view is superb; the screened-in porch is so very pleasant for enjoying the view and nice breeze. We appreciated so much having beach chairs, cooler, towels to use. It was a fabulous vacation and we hope to return someday!
The pictures don't do this property justice...the island and the views from this adorable house are breathtaking. The owners are very involved and informative prior to arrival. The greeter is so helpful upon arrival so that navigating the road to the house and learning the ins and outs of the property are made easy.
Overall, if we head back to St. John we would stay here again! The owners responded fast to any questions we had.
We loved the open front porch that connected to the rest of the house. Hopefully we make it back to St John soon and get to stay in this house again.
Our favorite thing about this house is where it was located. Coral Bay was our favorite part of the island. The small-town feel and beautiful surroundings made it a very special place.
"Your cottage is beautiful and the view amazing. The kitchen well stocked, the furniture beautiful, the decorations charming and the towels soft. The Lani a wonderful place to read and eat. There were plenty of books and St John guides.
Lienster, Maho and Salt Pond were just 15 min away. We snorkeled and saw turtles, rays, squids, an eel and and sea star. At Haulover Bay, Drunk Bay and at the bay at Lucy's we found shells, sea urchins, coral, sea fans and some sea biscuits. With Prirate Penny, in the BVI, we crawled over granite boulders and snorkeled the Indians, which were filled with sea life."
Absolutely loved our stay at the Coconut Hill Cottage. Views are stunning and the cottage has all amenities you might need. There are lots of beautiful beaches to choose from for sunbathing, snorkeling, swimming etc. We enjoyed taking a nice refreshing dip into the pool in the morning or after coming back from the beach.
Perfect place to get away and having a relaxed time!
Outstanding place, the views are amazing. Loved looking at the boats in coral bay and being able to see the BVI. The place was as advertised, with everything you need for a great vacation. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. Sitting at the bar by the pool in the morning was one of the best parts. It was nice to have the beach chairs, umbrella and coolers. Definitely would recommend the place and would love to come back. Best VRBO experience ever!
My husband and I have used VRBO on many occasions and we've seen the pictures of properties, shown up and things are not exactly like pictured on VRBO. THIS IS NOT THE CASE with the coconut hill cottage! Pictures are not only accurate but the property is amazing. The view itself would be enough but the cottage is nicely furnished and decorated with a private porch and pool! We would spend our afternoon in the heat of the day on the porch with drinks and it was more than we could have asked for on our honeymoon. Restuarants and awesome snorkeling (Saltpond Bay) are within 5-10 minutes of the cottage.
